Installation Guide
Installation can be performed three ways.
Floating Floor
If you’re looking for the simplest, fastest, and most cost-effective installation method, Floating Floor is your answer.
it is important to note that when opting for Herringbone & Chevron designs, glue down is necessary.
For a quieter and more comfortable underfoot experience, we advise using Acoustic Underlay & PVA Joint Glue during the installation process.
To ensure optimal results, it is crucial to have a flat subfloor before proceeding with the installation.
Glue Down (Direct Stick)
Glue Down, also known as Direct Stick offers unmatched durability and a firm, luxurious feel underfoot. Unlike other installation options, Direct Stick eliminates the need for a separate underlay, thanks to its specially formulated timber flooring adhesive, which includes a built-in moisture barrier. Say goodbye to worries about floor movement, as this premium installation technique ensures your floor stays securely in place.
If you’re looking for a long-lasting and stable timber flooring solution that exudes elegance and comfort, choose Direct Stick installation.
A glued floor will feel as solid as a nailed floor as well as allowing for expansion and contraction (due to the flexibility of the glue)
When it comes to flooring options, Glue down Installation may have a slightly higher initial cost compared to floating floors. However, it offers a host of advantages that make it a worthwhile investment for those seeking premium quality and long-term value.
Nail Down
A less common method of installation.
The nail down method can be used to secure plank floors to a timber subfloor.
A similar firm feel underfoot to Glue Down.
A ‘secret’ nailer shoots a nail into the tongue of the plank to secure it to the subfloor.
